The date of our New York City symposium is Saturday 28th October, 12pm - 8pm, preceded on Friday 27th October by a performance of Frank O'Hara's Try! Laynie Browne's Practice Has No Sequel, a collection of prose poems that meditate on time, perception, loss, and bafflement, is out with Parmenar Press; and Laynie's Intaglio Daughters, an homage text for the poet Lyn Hejinian, is out with Ornithopter Press.

Jordan Davis’s third collection, Yeah, No, is forthcoming from MadHat.

Peter Gizzi's Fierce Elegy, a reminder that elegy is at once a lament and a work of love, is out with Wesleyan University Press.

Anselm Hollo's Collected Poems came out in August with Coffee House Press.

Patricia Spears Jones's new book, her fifth poetry collection The Beloved Community is out with Copper Canyon on September 26th. Paolo Javier's True Account of Talking to the 7 in Sunnyside (Roof Books) is a finalist for the Big Other Book Award for Poetry.

Canteloupe Music (from the creators of Bang on a Can) has released the score of the opera Black Lodge with music by David T. Little and libretto by Anne Waldman. Waldman will also be curating two days for Giorno Poetry Systems (222 Bowery, Oct 28th (6-8pm) & 29th (4-9pm)), including presentations on Etel Adnan with Sarah Riggs and others, the cine-poetics of Natalia Gaia, No Land and Ed Bowes, a Vincent Katz talk on Edwin Denby, Rudy Burckhardt & Yvonne Jacquette, and free jazz legend Charles Gayle with Cisco Bradley & William Parker, with performance.

Jess Cotton's John Ashbery (Reaktion) was reviewed by Martin Stannard for Litter Magazine.

Eileen Myles's A 'Working Life' (Grove Press UK) was reviewed in The Guardian.

Boog City Arts Festival is happening September 8th-12th at various locations in Brooklyn and featuring NYS-linked poets including John Godfrey, Harris Schiff, Marcella Durand, Patricia Spears Jones, Oliver Katz, Nathan Kernan, Matt Proctor, and Tony Towle, among many others.
